Q: Does C.R.I.S. repair all cameras regardless of Make and Model?
A: In most cases we can. We have an enormous stock of spare parts in our inventory.
However, when parts support has been discontinued by the manufacturer we may not be
able to repair some models. For more information regarding
the reparability of your camera please use our estimate form.
Q: Can C.R.I.S. repair my camera under the terms of the factory warranty?
A: Yes, provided your camera is made by one of the manufacturers listed on the main repair
page. When requesting a warranty repair please submit a copy of your dated sales receipt
with your repair order. This is required on all warranty repairs and failure to submit this
information may result in unnecessary delays. Please request warranty service before the
repair is performed.
Q: How long is the original warranty?
A: Usually camera manufacturers provide a new product warranty for one year from the date
of original purchase. In some cases this time period may be longer or could have been
extended if an extended warranty was also purchased.
Q: Do I need the same documents for extended warranty?
A: Yes, a copy of the manufacturers extended warranty documents. Extended warranties are
subject to all regulations specified by the manufacturer as outlined under the terms of the
original product warranty.
Q: Is my camera worth repairing?
A: Generally it is always more economical to repair your camera than to replace it. If your
camera has been completely submerged in water or other liquids it may not be worth
repairing. You can contact us via the estimate form. on this website if you would like more
information before submitting your camera for repair.
Q: I'm not sure my camera is broken, how do I know if I'm doing something wrong?
A: First check your battery to insure it is still good and properly inserted. Then check
your owner's manual to insure you are using the camera correctly. If you still have a
problem the camera probably needs repair.
Q: Does C.R.I.S. guarantee the repairs performed?
A: Yes, repaired products are guaranteed to be free from defects under normal use for the term specified by product type below:
- Standard Consumer Film Cameras and Accessories are guaranteed for 180 days from the date of repair completion.
- Digital, Professional, Commercial and Industrial Photo Equipment repairs are guaranteed for 90 days from the date of repair completion.
- Video Equipment repairs are guaranteed for 30 days from the date of repair completion.
Our obligation is to rework (same defect) provided that the equipment is returned with a copy of the original invoice
and a letter or work order with a detailed defect description, transportation prepaid. We are not responsible for any expense, loss or inconvenience.
Any guarantee is voided on any item or parts that have been tampered with by unauthorized persons, misused, neglected or damaged.
Q: How much will it cost to repair my camera?
A: It is difficult to answer this question without details regarding the type of product
and the failure encountered. Please use our estimate form.and Email us with these details.
We will respond by Email and provide you with a general repair estimate. We provide these
estimates to the best of our ability and reserve the right to amend this estimate upon
actual inspection.
Q: How do I send my camera to C.R.I.S. for repair?
A: Package your camera in a box large enough for a minimum of 3 inches of soft padding
around the unit. Use bubble wrap or newspaper to provide the padding and ship the box by
UPS, Federal Express or US Mail. It is advisable to insure the shipment for the replacement
value of the content. Please include your name, address, daytime telephone number, and a
letter or work order detailing the product defect (repair form here).If the product is
submitted for warranty repair also include your dated sales receipt.
Q: What happens after C.R.I.S. receives my camera?
A: If the camera was submitted for warranty or extended warranty repairs with the correct
documents the camera goes right into our service department for repair. When cameras are
received for non-warranty repairs an estimate is issued and either mailed or faxed to you.
The estimate can be approved with payment by Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express
for the fastest return. If you prefer you can send a check or money order by mail.
